Safety & Compliance
The record
Since Yellow Wings began commercial operations in 1998, we have had no hull losses and no fatal accidents. TBC
We publish that plainly because it is the only claim in this industry that cannot be manufactured, and because the reasons behind it are the reasons to fly with us.
Two pilots. Every flight.
The Cessna Caravan may legally be flown single-pilot in most of the jurisdictions we operate in. We have never done it. Two qualified pilots fly every Yellow Wings sector, which means two sets of eyes on every approach into a strip with no tower, no lighting and no published approach.
1,500 hours on type before command
Not 1,500 hours total — 1,500 on the Caravan. A single-type fleet makes that possible: every pilot, every engineer and every spare part is specialised on one aircraft.
Simulator training beyond requirement
Our crews train for the failures the regulations do not mandate practising.
Maintenance ahead of schedule, not to it
Engines overhauled in Switzerland every 3,800 hours. Compressor wash every 100 hours. Injector nozzles cleaned every 400.
